Dear Friend,
Welcome to first grade!  My name is Mrs. Nancy Papi and I am your teacher.  I am looking forward to working together.  This year you will read books, work with classmates, solve problems, write stories and do projects and investigations. 

Some things you may bring to school are: a recent photograph of yourself, a package of pencils, crayons, scissors (Fiscar brand work well), a glue stick, a small shoe box and a bookbag to bring back and forth each day. (Bookbags without wheels are best because they weigh less and fit better in cubbies.)

If you go to the beach this summer, we need sea shells for our math collection.  We also need old buttons and keys as well as colored lids from containers of margarine, icing, coffee, etc.

I look forward to seeing you on the first day of school, Wednesday, August 19th as we begin our journey together.
